Getting ready for the fifth and final test + bathroom issues at the Rydges World Square hotel (The address is Pitt street for a reason)

The pre Test event tonight was the best of the tour in my view. I did miss the Adelaide pre-Test event, so if anyone wants to vote for that one let me know.

Tonight's entertainment was hosted by  Alison Mitchell (whose praises I have sung before) and featured  Phil Tufnell with Glen McGrath, David Lloyd (Bumble) solo and  who was hilariously funny recounting his fart in a gender neutral toilet, when the lady in the neighbouring cubicle said "is that you Maureen?", and also recounting the time when he was hit amidships, by Jeff Thomson, in the 74/75 Ashes series, when his protector got displaced due to him not wearing a jock-strap, and then finally Alistair Cook with Mark Taylor, two Ashes winning cricketers.

The question of the night was will Alistair Cook take a job with the ECB after this series? Answer not forthcoming tonight.

At any rate I was in the front row so got some good snaps reproduced here for your enjoyment

Finally I managed to grab selfies with Alison and Phil

Finally we have to mention bathroom issues at the Rydges World Square hotel. Many guests have noticed that the 'push-push' plug hole  stoppers don't allow one to fill the wash basin. Personally I like to fill a wash basin when I'm having a shave in the morning and washing my face before I go to bed, so I got the hotel  'engineer' to remove the non functional stopper and replace it with a conventional stopper (no moving parts so it can't go wrong). In addition my shower started to leak and possibly the same guy came back to 'fix' that. He did, but in so doing forgot to turn the cold-water feed back on to my room, which I noticed when the loo wouldn't flush, so at 9pm this evening just as I post this that is now fixed.
